Caritas will co-host a timely event with Rondine Cittadella della Pace from Arezzo, Italy, as part of their presence at the United Nations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Rondine is recognized by the government of Italy as an example/practice of effective conflict transformation. Fellows of the Rondine Association from around the world are active in appealing to world leaders and decision makers based on their experiences of grave vulnerability in terms of wars, conflict and peaceful coexistence…fostering dialogue, creative responsible networking - seeking and sharing solutions.
In a time of fragile multilateralism, our societies are facing unprecendented challenges, including continued conflicts, increased violent extremism, and severe human rights violations. Therefore, we are gathering to reflect about the role of faith inspired organization on introducing a new approach to promote global citizenship.
This event is moderated by Joseph Cornelius Donnelly, Head of Delegation for Caritas Internationalis Office at the United Nations in New York.
Rima Salah, PhD, Chair of the Early Childhood Peace Consortium (ECPC) is pleased to participate as an event panelist.
