Dr. Bekir B. Artukoglu is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He earned his medical degree from Acibadem University School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. He completed a research fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center, focusing on Tourette Syndrome and psychiatric comorbidities. He went on to complete his General Psychiatry residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, and his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident in Psychotherapy. He also completed a 2 year psychodynamic psychotherapy training at the Psychoanalytic Association of New York, affiliated with NYU Grossman School of Medicine. His academic interests include tic disorders, ADHD, OCD, child development, and psychotherapy. Dr. Artukoglu has received several professional honors, including the American Psychiatric Association Foundation Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the William P. Moore, MD & Roy N. Aruffo, MD Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Resident Excellence Award, and the AACAP Psychodynamic Faculty Initiative (PsyFI) Mentorship Award.
