In response to the crisis in Ukraine, Sesame Workshop has mobilized to create teaching and learning materials for Ukrainian preschool children, their parents and teachers, which have gradually grown into a full-scale program for in person and distance learning. These materials provide step-by-step lesson plans, with 140 five-minute accompanying videos (cartoons) in four educational areas: Mathematics, Social-emotional learning, Science and Health and Safety.

The NGO Committee on Migration and the ECPC among others are co-sponsoring a side event at the upcoming 61st Session of the Commission for Social Development. The event, titled “Don’t Steal My Childhood: Child Labor and Children in Migration”, will highlight the important issue of forced child labor (which deprives children of their childhood, their potential, and their dignity) in line with the ambitious targets for ending child labor (SDG 8.7) and safe, orderly, and responsible migration (SDG 10.7).
