Sarah Miller

Sarah Miller, PhD is an Associate Professor of Education at Queen’s University Belfast. She is a member of the Core Delivery Team of the NIHR Global Health Research Group on Early Childhood Development for Peacebuilding and is responsible for leading the Group’s work in Mali and Vietnam. Sarah is also the Deputy Director of the Campbell UK & Ireland center. She is a Developmental Psychologist with expertise in program evaluation and evidence synthesis.

Laura Dunne

Dr. Laura Dunne is a Chartered Psychologist and Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the School of Social Science, Education and Social Work (SSESW), Queen’s University Belfast.  She is a Fellow of the Centre for Evidence and Social Innovation (CESI) and the UKCRC Centre of Excellence for  Public Health, Northern Ireland (CoEPHNI). Laura’s research interests lie in three main areas; child health and wellbeing, early child development and education in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs), and programme evaluation.

ECPC members bolster the evidence-base of peacebuilding through ECD in new book chapter

In this chapter, ECPC members and affiliates makes a case for investing in Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs and services as a key mechanism to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and contributing to peacebuilding efforts in the global context. The links among early childhood, sustainable development and peacebuilding are discussed from macroeconomic, biodevelopmental and social perspectives.

Twenty years of peace: Progress & possibilities in N. Ireland

Twenty years ago, the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement marked a formal end to the conflict in Northern Ireland. This conference will bring together architects of that peace agreement, political and community leaders, and academics to discuss current challenges that hamper the full realization of peace in Northern Ireland and possible paths forward.
