About
Organised by UNESCO, the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education was held from 14-16 November in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The ECPC along with other prominent ECD organizations organized a side event on the transformative power of shared parenting - particularly during those critical early years.
The objective of this side-event, supported by the Early Childhood Peace Consortium (ECPC), ISSA – International Step by Step Association, the MenCare Global Fatherhood Campaign and Plan International, is to show that transforming parenthood – towards a fairer distribution of this responsibility between mothers and fathers – is crucial, not only for early child development, but also for each of the parents, gender equality, a reduction in violence and peace-building, and therefore, ultimately, for the future of us all.
