For weeks, we’ve been urged to stay home for our safety and the safety of others. But unfortunately, for a disturbing number of children, home is not a safe haven. In March, as more cities and states instituted restrictions related to COVID-19, RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, saw minors account for a majority of victims using its online hotline for the first time in its history. This came at the same time states were reporting a decline in official reports of child abuse.
During this webinar, RAINN Vice President Camille Cooper will discuss the unfolding situation and what social workers, case workers, teachers, family members and neighbors can do while socially distanced to keep tab on the children that were at risk prior to the pandemic.
