Chinara Dzhumagulova, PhD

Dr. Chinara Dzhumagulova has 29 years of experience in the areas of education and youth program development, teacher training and management, advocacy, and monitoring and evaluation. 

1998-2002. Education Program manager at “Save the Children” Denmark in Kyrgyzstan.

2002-09. Central Asia Regional Inclusive Education Advisor (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan)/Senior Education Manager, and with Save the Children UK. She developed and field-tested training materials in education for teachers and community members, which led to the publication of a practical manual and guide on instructional classroom management, methods, student stimulation and discipline. As Education Advisor/Manager, she liaised and worked with relevant Ministry of Education departments, Kyrgyz Academy of Education, teacher training Institutes, NGOs, donors and academic institutions, in order to advocate for policy changes in i) child protection and education sectors concerning the rights of children, ii) textbooks, and iii) changes in curriculum and practice at all levels.

2009-10. Youth Program Manager, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) (experience gained in higher and vocational education areas).

2013-15.  Quality Reading Project Manager, USAID. 

2002-15. Consultant/expert on education and social policies, required by UNICEF, UNDP,  WB, ADB, GIZ, SOROS, ministries and other local authorities and institutions.

She participated on developing Country Education Strategy 2012-20, under the Ministry of Education and Science KR and served as a leader of thematic working groups.

2015-present. Dr. Dzhumagulova has been working as an Early Childhood Development Officer at UNICEF, Kyrgyzstan. In the Country Programme 2018-2022, based on the achievement to-date reaching the most vulnerable in providing them access to early childhood development, and building on the scientific evidence on the potential of ECD in conflict prevention, she coordinates modeling an ECE intervention with short-term and long-term contribution to harmonious inter-ethnic dynamics and conflict prevention.
