UNESCO is convening an Innovative Dialogue on Early childhood care and education (ECCE)to engage global leaders, policy makers and many other ECCE stakeholders in a global partnership strategy in pursuit of SDG Target 4.2. The Dialogue will be an opportunity to frame the discussion of ECCE in the context of the global landscape in education.
The COVID-19 response has relatively neglected young children, resulting in them becoming the greatest victims of the pandemic due to a lifelong impact on their education and well-being.
UNESCO, together with country representatives and the Executive Leadership Council of ECDAN, after turning the insights from the Technical session held on 16 December 2020 and the workshops / consultations, will produce the draft GPS to be presented at the High-level segment. The outcome of this session will consist of concrete recommendations for the development of the Action Plan including flagship programmes to implement the Global Partnership Strategy. The Dialogue #2 will also define the process for the endorsement by countries and partners.
