About
[From https://event.newschool.edu/childrenmigrationmentalhealth]
A recent UNICEF report found that 36 Million children have been forcibly displaced as of 2020. Displaced children are an extremely vulnerable population, and are at great risk of developing physiological and psychological problems. In order to respond to the specific needs of displaced children, whether in temporary settlements or in high-income countries, it is essential to acknowledge the mental health risks these children incur, identify factors of vulnerability and resilience, and investigate the web of geopolitical and socioeconomic factors that influence global child displacement.
We invite you to come together to discuss the current goals and findings of the research, and provide an opportunity to deepen our understanding of children, displacement, and mental health.
