New scientific evidence on the importance of early childhood development for future health and human capital necessitated the development of an empirically-based guidelines. A new WHO guideline provides global, evidence-informed recommendations on improving early childhood development through interventions that support responsive caregiving and early learning. It focuses on the needs of both the caregivers and young children.
