New scientific evidence on the importance of early childhood development for future health and human capital necessitated the development of an empirically-based guidelines. A new WHO guideline provides global, evidence-informed recommendations on improving early childhood development through interventions that support responsive caregiving and early learning. It focuses on the needs of both the caregivers and young children. The guideline is relevant for a wide range of stakeholders including parents and other caregivers who are primarily responsible to provide nurturing care; service providers who can support caregivers to put nurturing care into practice; and policy makers and program managers to make the relevant investments. In this webinar, colleagues from WHO will introduce the guideline, discuss the relevance of the recommendations for national policy making, and engage in dialogue on how to facilitate the dissemination and uptake of the guideline in countries.
