Early Years - The Organization for Young Children
Early Years is the largest organization in Northern Ireland working with and for young children. It is a non-profit making organization and has been working since 1965 to promote high quality childcare for children aged 0 - 12 and their families.
Special Representative to the Secretary-General, Violence Against Children, Marta Santos Pais, emphasizes ‘Violence prevention must start in early childhood’ during her Annual Report to the Human Rights Council
“Ending violence in children’s lives starting in early childhood is first and foremost a question of children’s rights,” said Santos Pais. “But it is also a highly cost-effective strategy, leading to better health and education and to increased national wealth, while reducing the social cost of addressing the long-term consequences of violence in childhood.
