Dr. Ana Estela Haddad is Associate Professor of the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of São Paulo (USP), and holds a PhD from the same University.  

From 2003 to 2005 she worked as an Advisor at the Ministry of Education. From 2005 to 2010 she worked at the Brazilian Ministry of Health, in the Department of Labour Management and Health Education (SGTES). As Management Director of Health Education, she was responsible for the programmes Pró-Saúde (Pro- Health) and Telessaúde Brasil (Telehealth Brazil). She created and coordinated the National Commission of Residency in Health (CNRMS), the National Policy of Health Education, and the Program for Health Workforce Education - PET Saúde. She would later serve as Deputy Secretary for the Department of Labour Management and Health Education (SGTES).   

Currently, Ana Estela Haddad is the former First Lady of the City of São Paulo and Coordinator of the Early Childhood Development Programme (São Paulo Carinhosa), composed by 14 municipal departments joined to promote childhood care.
