Building a ‘Culture of Peace’ - Colombia
Introduction
The dream of the Fondacion Saldarriaga de Concha (FSC) in post-conflict Colombia is to contribute to a cultural transformation and society for everyone where there is respect for everyone regardless their past affiliation with groups that were involved in the country’s long standing history of armed conflict.
Recently, the FSC utilized the Ecology of Peace framework to mobilize national funding for early childhood. As Healthy Living Leader at the Fundación Saldarriaga Concha in Bogota, Colombia, Dr. Lina María González Ballestero discusses her foundation’s success in mobilizing funds for investment in early childhood in Colombia through the conceptualization of peacebuilding from early childhood.
Contributor: Angelica Ponguta, PhD, MPH, serves as Expert Consultant to the Early Childhood Peace Consortium (ECPC). She is Research Scientist in the Yale Child Study Center.
