Ali Nashat Shaar, MD, is currently the Director of the Palestinian Child Institute at An-Najah National University in Nablus, Palestine. With 30 years of experience in Public Health, health system development and humanitarian response, Dr Shaar has been part of many programs and projects addressing impact of war and conflict on children, women and health systems in Arab world.

As of 2001, he served as a co-founder and a member of the Executive committee of the International Network on Peace Building for Young Children. He also is a member of the MENA region health Policy forum and a member of the Palestinian Health Policy forum with active engagement in health system reform at the national level.
