About

When: Tuesday, 7th July 2020 at 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm CET

The objective of the seminar is to draw a connection between racism and children to highlight the positive role of children in the anti-discrimination and anti-racism action as agents of change. Racialised children in Europe are disproportionally exposed to multiple forms of discrimination in schools and elsewhere, given their specific vulnerabilities and intersectionality

Together with Ms. Helena Dalli, EU Commissioner for Equality and Ms. Dubravka Šuica, European Commission Vice-President for Democracy and Demography, we will highlight the need to work out an intersectional approach respectively in the upcoming EU Action Plan to fight discrimination and the EU Child Rights Strategy to address the specific needs of racialised children with the contribution of young activists of the African diaspora and Members of the European Parliament.
