Faces of peace: The Learning for Peace programme (2012-2016)

Four and a half years ago UNICEF and the Government of the Netherlands began an ambitious and unprecedented journey to change the way education was delivered to children and young people in countries at risk of, experiencing, or recovering from violent conflict.

This video shares the story of this journey and the children, young people and men and women impacted by the Learning for Peace programme.

Populations residing in the four Developing Regional States (DRS) of Ethiopia are vulnerable to frequent manmade and natural disasters. These regions rank low in development indicators, including education. This study looks at the opportunities and challenges of peacebuilding through education and how, in this context, PBEA interventions could strengthen social cohesion and community resilience.
