Breaking down gender stereotypes in schools in Uganda

Forty-something Margaret Abeku, a teacher at Kanu Primary School, claps and laughs out loud in a mix of joy and disbelief. The role of education in peacebuilding: South Africa country report

We are delighted to introduce the third in a series of four reports exploring education and peacebuilding in specific country contexts from the Research Consortium on Education and Peacebuilding.

Written by researchers from the Centre for International Teacher Education (CITE) at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in South Africa, the report explores education and peacebuilding in South Africa from three viewpoints:

A systematic policy review of early childhood development and peacebuilding in fourteen conflict-affected and post-conflict countries

A Systematic Policy Review of Early Childhood Development and Peacebuilding in 14 Conflict-affected and Post-conflict Countries, UCL Institute of Education & UNICEF, 2015

Conflict and fragile conditions that arise as a result of adversities such as civil wars, deprivation and emergency situations invariably compromise the lives of children. This report presents the findings of a systematic review of early childhood development and peacebuilding policies across fourteen conflict-affected and post-conflict countries.
